SOMETHING ABOUT TAX

Hi friends .....

Do you know What is tax?

A tax is a financial charge or other levy imposed on an individual or a legal entity by a state or a functional equivalent of a state. Taxes are also imposed by many subnational entities. Taxes consist of direct tax or indirect tax, and may be paid in money or as its labour equivalent (often but not always unpaid). A tax may be defined as a "pecuniary burden laid upon individuals or property to support the government a payment exacted by legislative authority."A tax " is not a voluntary payment or donation, but an enforced contribution, exacted pursuant to legislative authority" and is "any contribution imposed by government whether under the name of toll, tribute, tallage, gabel, impost, duty, custom, excise, subsidy, aid, supply, or other name."

In modern taxation systems, taxes are levied in money, but in-kind and corvée(A formal tax that peasants paid) taxation are characteristic of traditional or pre-capitalist states and their functional equivalents. The method of taxation and the government expenditure of taxes raised is often highly debated in politics and economics.

Tax can result in anything from the mechanisms of slavery to the fruits of re-distributive social revolution, depending on the details of its implementation.

PHOENIX JOURNEY

Hi Friends...

The Phoenix Lander successfully touched down on Mars today at about 7:40 pm EDT today. The NASA scientists called the descent "Seven Minutes of Peril" and the Lander survived it with aplomb.

The NASA scientists watched the data pouring in from the Lander and were happy to know it landed successfully without any hitch. All the hard work and time spent for this mission paid of well in the end.

It was able to deploy the parachute as planned and it discarded the parachute and fired it thrusters few thousand meters from the Mars’ surface and landed safely.

In the coming days the Phoenix Lander will sample the soil and ice and see whether any organic materials are present now or were in the past.

The video shows the animation sequence of how the Phoenix Lander will arrive at Mars.

No video of its landing was shown but they were able to get data directly from the Lander and from the orbiting Mars Odyssey and the data showed all is well now with the Lander.

It will explore the soil for the next three months.

For more coverage on the Phoenix Lander check the article here.

GREATNESS OF GOD

Hi all........

God, grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change,

courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time,

enjoying one moment at a time,

accepting hardship as a pathway to peace:

taking, as he did, this sinful world as it is,

not as I would have it:

trusting that he will make all things right

if I surrender to his will:

that I may be reasonably happy in this life,

and supremely happy with him forever

in the next.

CHANGE MOOD

Hi friennds....

What do you do when you're feeling a bit down? Raid the fridge, call a friend, get drunk, or have a good cry? According to new research, these common methods are all pretty useless. So what can you do?

Do's and Don'ts. For advanced mood changers keen to manipulate the energy or tension components of their moods separately- taking into account, of course, their natural daily rhythms- these are the Do's and Don'ts.

For energy: Use some of the techniques for active mood change, like relaxation, exercise and giving yourself a pep talk.

Plus: Change your location. Call someone. Keep busy. Listen to music. Take a shower. Have a rest.

Don't:

  • drink coffee
  • eat
  • watch TV
  • smoke
  • get drunk
  • cry it out
  • talk it through with a friend
  • behave nervously (fidgeting, pacing)
  • enjoying a hobby
  • going shopping
  • doing chores
  • having sex
  • reading or writing
  • spiritual or religious activities
